Job Description The incumbent will assist in the maintenance of all transit coaches and associated equipment and be expected to participate in training classes to include an additional 144 hours of related supplemental education and training annually. The individual will be considered in training status until attainment of journey-level status as a Mechanic. Training requirements will dictate working different shifts including days, swing, or graveyard during the 48-month training period. SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY The incumbent will perform frequent new and varied work situations involving a moderate degree of complexity. Work is performed in accordance with established and well-known policies and procedures, safety practices, and laws. As more knowledge and experience is gained, employees will perform increasingly more responsible coach and component repair duties under the close supervision of the Fleet Maintenance Supervisor, Maintenance Training Supervisor, and experienced Mechanics as assigned.
