Transit Talks: Advancing Racial Equity in Transit Planning and Service Delivery
As we listen to renewed calls for racial justice, we, as transit professionals, must acknowledge – and address– the history of racism embedded in the planning discipline as well as in the policies and procedures that have long-guided investments in transportation infrastructure. This Transit Talks will provide practical guidance to transit professionals on how to focus their agencies on redressing the racism that has created barriers to participation in transit planning decisions and to transit service itself. This Transit Talks will also provide transit professionals with a clear understanding of what it means to deliver on transportation equity for communities across California, so that, together, we can better support the fight for racial justice.
